He was born June 23, 1932, in Garden City, to Arthur E. and Susie M. Dean Alexander.
Mr. Alexander was a lifetime farmer and rancher.
On Aug. 6, 1950, he married Betty Fae Avara in LaJunta, Colo. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Alexander of Satanta, and David Irvin of Ulysses; four daughters, Nancy Ferris of Hutchinson, Becky Sanders of Oklahoma City, Debbie Hartsell of Hartsville, S.C., and Gina Timmons of Sunray, Texas; two brothers, Mervin Alexander of Nevada, Mo., and Duane Alexander of Ulysses; a sister, Susan Helsel of Dexter; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David and Dale Alexander; two brothers, Scotty and Claude Alexander; and two sisters, Marilyn Elmore and Karen Hall.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Prairie Church Of God, Satanta. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today through Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette. Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Prairie Church Of God, in care of the funeral home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877
