George Alexander Lineberry, 78, of Rt. 4, Galax, died in a local hospital, after having been in ill health for some time, Friday, April 17, 1964.

He was born in Carroll County July 17, 1886, to the late George Alex Lineberry and wife, Mrs. Rhoda Harmon Lineberry.

Mr. Lineberry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mintie Lawson Lineberry; five daughters, Mrs. Gray Sizemore, Roanoke, Mrs. Emory Bartlett, Radford, Mrs. A. Carr Jones, Eggleston (wife of the Rev. A. Carr Jones, Methodist pastor at Eggleston, in Gile County), and Mrs. Harold Sharp and Mrs. Coy Chambers, both of Galax; two sons, Lonnie Lineberry, Norfolk, and George Lineberry, Galax; three brother, Leander Lineberry, Jacob Lineberry, & Thomas Lineberry; and five sisters, Infant Lineberry, Piety Lineberry, Dillie Bryant, Callie D. Lineberry, & Linnie Bowers; three half-brothers, Bert Lineberry, Robert Lineberry, and Glenn Lineberry and three half-sisters; Nancy Lineberry, Callie B. Roberts and Mrs. Louie Goad.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Vaughan-Guynn Chapel by the Rev. Winfred Bowers, pastor of Hebron Christian Church, the Rev. Lonnie P. Shaw, pastor of Camp Zion Church, and the Rev. Brady F. Snow, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Interment was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.
