"Ellen O. Pusey Pinney had a very distinguished background. She was the daughter of William H. M. Pusey and the niece of Thomas Officer who was a good friend of Abraham Lincoln from when he lived in Springfield, Illinois. Ellen married Charles Pinney on September 15, 1870. He moved from Omaha to Council Bluffs as that is where her family resided; and, there he continued his medical practice. Ellen and Charles were blessed with three sons and a daughter. They are all buried in Council Bluffs."
