JOHN W. HOGAN
John W. Hogan was born near New Amsterdam, Indiana, on June 29, 1858, and passed away at the home of his nephew, O. E. Briles, on Dec. 23, 1924, at 5:30 p.m., aged 66 years, 5 months and 24 days.
He was the seventh of ten children born to Isaac and Julia Ann Hogan, all of whom have passed away except one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lake, who resides here.
Having been born on a farm he followed that occupation until four years ago when he was stricken with the flu. Other complications set in from which he could get no relief, and death came on Tuesday evening.

Funeral services were held from the Chariton Christian church, conducted by Rev. J. D. Pontius. The Chariton I.O.O.F. lodge had charge of the services at the grave.
