John H. B. Wolf, born about 1840 as son of Major Jacob Wolf and his second wife Elizabeth Lantz Sanders Wolf. He served in the Arkansas 14th along with his four brothers, an uncle, and many other family members. His brother Dr. Joseph Marion Wolf is also buried in this cemetery as are many other family members. He was suppose to have died at the home on Monta Wolf. He was a descendant of the famous Wolf family of Norfork, AR.

Hon. Sam M. Casey of this city is in receipt of information of the death of his uncle, Dr. John H. B. Wolf, at the home of the latter's brother at Granger, Tex., on November 25th. Dr. Wolf was a citizen of Batesville twenty years or more ago, and will be remembered by many of the old citizens. He was a brother to Hon. Sam. M. Casey's mother and a cousin of John Q. Wolf, cashier of the Bank of Batesville. Dr. Wolf was 67 years old at the time of his death.
