Joseph Marion Wolf, MD,born 30 Apr 1842, at the Wolf House, in what is now Norfork, Baxter Co., AR and d. Aug 1915, Rockdale, TX, m. (1) Sarah Jane "Sally" Sink Wolf who d.1876 and is bur. in the Leadville Cemetery in Boone Co., AR. (2) Francis Effie Eaton who died in 1895, Bartlett, TX .

Joseph M. Wolf served in the Civil War first from July 1861 to Oct 26, 1861, seeing action at Wilson's Creek, MO., then from Oct 1861 to May 26, 1865, with Co. I., 14th Arkansas Infantry seeing action at Pearidge, Corinth, Iuka, Fort Hudson, Marks, Hill, Poison Springs, and Mt. Elba.

After the war he entered the University of Louisville School of Medicine and graduated in 1870. He practiced medicine in Mountain Home, Blue Mountain, Norfork, and the surrounding areas until 1891, when he moved his family to central Texas. He lived in several Texas towns and finally settled at Rockdale.

He was the son of Maj Jacob and Elizabeth (Sanders) Wolf, nee Lantz, natives of North Carolina and Ohio, and born in 1786 and 1800 respectively. They were married in Independance Co., AR but lived in Norfork, AR where spent the rest of their lives, the mother dying in 1846, and the father in 1865.

Joseph Wolf's wives were (1) Sarah Sink, dau of George and Sarah Sink; she died in 1876 (2) Effie Eaton b. in 1878 in Stone Co,AR dau of Benjamin R and Mary J. Eaton.
