--Daughter of Dr. Robert Hall Morrison and his wife Mary Graham. Eugenia was born in the family home on Derita Rd. Eugenia's father was a Presbyterian minister.
--She attended Salem College from 1847 to 1849.
--She married Rufus Barringer on May 23, 1854. They had 2 children: Anna Morrison Barringer and Paul Brandon Barringer.
--Eugenia died of typhoid fever at the age of 28.
--Although she died before the start of the Civil War, she is considered notable because not only did her husband become a general in the Confederate Army, two of her sisters also married men who became generals in the CSA. Most notable was Eugenia's sister Mary Ann Morrison, who was the wife of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.
--Eugenia's husband remarried twice more after her death.
