Mrs. J. A. Secrest Dies Dec. 30 at Maddox Bay 1969
Mrs. J.A. Secrest, aged 82, died at Maddox Bay Tuesday, December 30. She was a native of Annie, Illinois, and had lived at Sheridan 38 years before moving last year.
She was a charter member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J. A. Secrest; one son, Charles Secrest of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Chappell of Holly Grove, Mrs. Naomi Maher of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. Chris Abernathy, of Sacramento, California; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at Brown Funeral Home Chapel at Holly Grove by Rev. Gib Williams of Sheridan. Also attending from Sheridan were Mrs. Gib Williams and Coy Brewer.
