A native of Morehead, Kentucky, he had lived in Muncie 57 years and was a ordained Church of God minister, actively serving for 50 years. Rev. Conn was also a 30-year employee of the old Acme-Lees Corp. at Muncie. He pioneered several church's in the Muncie area and was instrumental in the expansion of the Southside Church of God here. He had held pastorates in Eaton, Saratoga, and Shady Grove. He was a past scoutmaster of Troop 20.
Surviving are his wife, Lola; a son, John, a Muncie policeman and director of the PAL Club; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Enterkin, Mrs. Ada Barrett, and Mrs. Vera Cox, all of Muncie, and Mrs. Dorothy Clark of Yorktown; a brother, Cleva, Pittsville, Wis.; two half-brothers, Walter and Ollie McRoberts, Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Sutherland, Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Cora McGreath, Muncie, and Mrs.Lucretia Fryman, Interlochen, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
