Mildred E. Berkey, 78, of Rockwood RD 1, (New Centerville), died Jan. 27, 1989, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1910 in Milford Township, a daughter of the late Walter G. and Rosie (Pletcher) Dunmyer. Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Berkey, Nov. 1987; a grandson, Lloyd Lester Snyder; brothers, Elwood, Walter Jr. and Gerald; and a sister, Dorothy, who died in infancy. Survived by the following children: Mrs. Lester (Audrey) Snyder, Somerset RD 1; Fred H. Berkey of Rockwood RD 1; Lloyd Berkey Jr. of Rockwood RD 3; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel (Melba) Cook of Ravenna, Ohio; and Mrs. Fred (Betty) Shaffer of Husband. Member of Milford United Methodist Church. Friend will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Rex Wasser officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Family requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to the Somerset Hospice Program or Kids in Need.
