Edward W. Roth Sr., 80, of East Stroudsburg, died Sunday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Mary (Ehrgood) Roth.
He was an assembler for the former Ronson Corp., Delaware Water Gap, for 29 years before retiring in 1976. Before that he was a well driller and also an employee of Pennsylvania Power and Light Co.
Born in Drums, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Martha (Dinkelacker) Roth.
He was a member of Mountainhome United Methodist Church.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 5th Armored Division.
Survivors: Wife; son, Edward William Jr. of Swiftwater; sister, Dorothy Salmons of Scranton; brother John of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a grandson.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg. Call 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday.
*Hazleton Standard Speaker shows interment in Keokee Chapel Cemetery, Paradise Valley.
