[Revolutionary Soldier] – In Memory of the Rev. Robert McMordie who departed this life May 22nd 1796. Aged 72 years. Was appointed Chaplain in the First Brigade Pennsylvania Line on 12 July 1780; from 1 July 1779 he had been Chaplain to the Second Brigade; and before that he had served with the "old eleventh". Rev. McMordie was the pastor of the Upper Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church from about 1753 to April 1761.
