SKOWHEGAN - Arthur Hoskins, 82, of Skowhegan went peacefully at home to be with the Lord and family, Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 with his partner Roger Thibodeau and Dr. Lambke at his side. He was born in Bangor, Maine, June 13, 1928 the son of the late Fred and Rita (Paul) Hoskins.

He graduated from Bloomfield Academy in Skowhegan, Maine.

He served 23 1/2 years in the Air Force, he retired in 1969.

He served many years for the State Civil Defense, night supervisor at Solon Manufacturing, administrative assistant to Town Manager of Palmyra, Town Manager of Canaan, and Board of Overseer of the poor. Arthur and his partner of 42 years Roger Thibodeau ran their own business for many years, including Rath Ceramics, Rath Camper Supplies, and Rath Lunch Wagon following the horse race circuit for 15 years.

He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He is survived by his three daughters, Kimberley Hoskins of Norway, Trine Moore of Anson, Aina Hoskins of Conn.; one brother Frank and his wife Lorraine of Skowhegan; sister-in-law Shirley Washburn of Skowhegan; his ex-wife Rick of Norway; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Rita, brothers Junior and his wife Katherine, Lewis and his wife Bunny, and Paul, brother-in-law Erlon Washburn.

A burial will be held in the spring at Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine. (Morning Sentinel 12/22/2010)
