William Thomas Hall was born 20 April 1860 to William McReynolds "Mack" Hall and Jane York Hall in Halls Cross Roads, Knox Co., Tennessee. One of five children, Thomas worked on the family farm in Church Grove, Knox Co. When Thomas was 15, his mother Jane York Hall, died and his father married Laura Gibbs. In 1880, Thomas moved to the city of Knoxville and worked as a painter for the ETV&G Railroad....a lifetime job. Thomas met and married Minerva Rosecrans Godfrey in 1884 in Knoxville. They had three children: Maude, Wilfred Harry & Margaret Zella.In 1897, Minerva died of cancer. Thomas married Sarah A. "Sallie" Amis in 1899. They had two children: Amis Buel and Mabel E. Wm Thomas Hall died 2 Jan 1945 at age 85. First wife, Minerva Godfrey is buried in Old Gray Cemetery, Knoxville. Second wife, Sallie Amis, is buried in Beaver Ridge Cemetery, Karns, Knox Co.
