Her parents, LeMasters Martin Boggs and Nancy Mollohan were both born in West Virginia, but it wasn't until the 1880 US census (after Mary Jane's death) that her parents used West Virginia instead of Virginia.
Mary Jane died from the effects of giving birth to twins, Thomas and Mary J. (born 24 Jun 1871). Mary Jane died on 11 Jul 1871 and the twins died on 30 Jul 1871 in Clarke County, IA.
