Jane Hutchinson was the wife of John Adams. Both sons, Capt. James and Capt. Hugh served in the War of 1812. She was the daughter of Sgt. Robert Mason Hutchison Sr and Jane Wallace (1740 PA - 1815 Giles Co, VA). She married John Adams about 1787. They were the parents of nine children. She died on 1 December 1805, in Rockbridge County, Virginia, at the age of 38, and was buried in New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Raphine, Rockbridge County, Virginia.
