She was the daughter of Sgt. Robert Mason Hutchison Sr and Jane Wallace (1740 PA - 1815 Giles Co, VA). She married John Adams about 1787. They were the parents of nine children. She died on 1 December 1805, in Rockbridge County, Virginia, at the age of 38, and was buried in New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Raphine, Rockbridge County, Virginia.
