Alfred Carl David, the son of Fred and Fredricka (Martins)David, was born March 31, 1879 at Guttenberg. He was batpized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On September 4, 1918 he enlisted in the army and was honorably discharged on Jauary 18, 1919. He was a charter member of the American Legion.
On February 6, 1924 he as united in marriage to Selma Garms at her parents home. During his life he worked as a carpenter.
He died Friday November 11, 1983 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Maukon, reaching the age of 86 years, 7 months, 10 days.
Preceding him in death were his wife Selma, who died May 26, 1979; his parents; a brother Herbert; and two sisters Agnes and Hattie.
Surviving are his sister Bertha Folsom of St. Cloud, Minnesota; a sister-in-law Harriett Garms, Postville, nieces and nephews.
