Lorna Elaine Anderson, age 80, of Dassel, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born July 12, 1927, on the family farm in Victor Township, Wright County, the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Krohn) Yager. Lorna was baptized and confirmed at the St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.
Lorna grew up near Howard Lake, where she graduated from the Howard Lake High School in 1945.
She was united in marriage to Dale Anderson May 3, 1947, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. They made their home in the Minneapolis area for several years before moving to Dassel.
An avid flower gardener, Lorna always had flowers in and around her homes. She enjoyed fishing, and feeding and watching birds. Lorna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and considered her children her best friends. She will deeply be missed by her friends and family.
Lorna is survived by her children, Vicki (Chuck) Stenson of South Haven, Cynthia Anderson of Litchfield, and Ross (Elizabeth) Anderson of Dassel; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Arwood (Helen) Yager of Winsted, Harlan (Marcella) Yager of Howard Lake, and Donald (Lorelie) Yager of Loretto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son, Wayne Dale Anderson; her parents; a brother, Eugene Yager; and a sister, Valeria Ernhart.
The funeral service was Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel with the Rev. Keith Carlson officiating. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday evening, April 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, and continued Friday for one hour at the church, prior to the funeral service.
