Funeral services of Mrs William R. Young were held at the home of her son, Harry L. Young in Edgar Tuesday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. Rev T. S. Hughes officiated. The Presbyterian male quartet furnished the music and Mrs .T. S. Hughes sang a solo.

The floral offerings were beautiful and showed the esteem in which the deceased was held.

The pallbearers were Francis Hattan, C. H. Gass, A. Squires, John Cook, D. W. Ethington and A. B. Culey.

She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in Edgar Cemetery.

Samantha L ., daughter of Jessie and Johanna Blair, was born at Irontron, Ohio, October 4, 1850 and died at Edgar, Nebraska, April 24, 1932, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 20 days.

She was married to William R. Young, November 4, 1869 at Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Five children were born to this union, Nora M. Cherry, Salt Lake City, Utah; Charles W., Elm Creek, Nebr.; Anna B. Burns, Denver, Colo.; Frank B. who died in 1929 and Harry L., Edgar. There are also ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, making the fifth generation.

She came to Nebraska in 1878, living near Weeping Water and endured all the hardships of pioneer life.

In 1909 she moved to Edgar. Since the death of her husband a year ago, she has made her home with her son, Harry and family.
