Rev. A.G. Padgett, 35, 3224 S. Mock Ave., died in Ball Hospital Wednesday. He was pastor of Church of God, Mountain Assembly, and until recently, had appeared weekly on the SOUND THE ALARM worship program on Channel 40. He was founder and chief administrator of Church of God Christian Assembly.

Rev. Padgett was a native of Crossville, Tenn., and moved to Muncie in 1976 and began his pastorate in August of that year.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Brosher Padgett; two daughters, Julie and Alisha, both at home; his father, A.G. Padgett, Monterey, Tenn., his mother, Avo Padgett, Muncie; eight brothers, John, Jimmy and Sam, all of Muncie, R.T. of Dayton, Ohio, Roy of Dunkirk, Don of Montpelier, Millard of Ridgeville, and David of Gaston; and seven sisters, Ethel Waters and Patricia Brosher, both of Muncie, Ruth Vaughn of Monterey, Tenn., Agnes Wooten of Springboro, Ohio, Ada Masters of Crossville, Tenn., and Mary Godsey and Darlene Farley, both of Monterey, Tenn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Church of God, Mountain Assembly, 2120 E. 26th St., with Rev. Ray Landes, northern general overseer of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. today in the church. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
