A native of Guilford County, the daughter of Milton and Elizabeth Barber Cook. She was a member of the Bethlehem Christan Church at Altamahaw and the wife of Bruce R. Gerringer, who survives. Other survivors are three daughters, Miss Lillian Gerringer, Mrs. Willie Lowe and Ms. R.L. Phillips; four sons, Pollard M., Freeman, Earl and Vance Gerringer,three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Shepherd, Mrs. Allie Payne and Mrs.Jasper Payne and one brother, Robert T. Cook, 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
