Lloyd, the son of F. P. Drew, and brother of William, Cecil and N. B. Drew, died Sunday afternoon after a very brief illness from typhoid fever. The young man had been ailing for a week or so before he called in a physician, being of the opinion that he was merely a little out of condition. This time, however, was sufficient to allow the treacherous disease a hold which could not be shaken off and before the many friends of the family could realize that there was any serious illness, there came the shock of the youth's death. Lloyd Drew was only 20 years of age and having grown up in Mesa was well known and was especially well liked among his many young friends. He recently has been taking the commercial course in the Mesa high school where he had made rapid progress. Mrs. F. P., Drew and Will Drew will be here from California on the morning train. The funeral service will be held at the Episcopal church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Frank Bloy will officiate.

The funeral service for LLoyd Drew was held yesterday afternoon at the Episcopal church and the universal esteem in which the young man was held was evidenced by the attendance, every seat being taken and a number of people crowding the entry. The casket, of pure white, was covered with beautiful floral offerings and a number of emblems in lilies and other flowers were grouped about. The entire commercial class of the high school, of which the deceased was a member, was in attendance. Rev. Bloy, in a short and impressive address, paid fitting tribute to the character of the youth so suddenly taken away. A long procession followed the hearse to the cemetery, where was laid to rest the remains of one who had barely glanced down the aisle of life ere he was ushered into eternity. Lloyd was only 20 years of age and the entire city is saddened at his death.
