Obituary from the Amboy Independent, July 13, 1923

Ira Milton Clelland, son of John and Emily Clelland, was born in Howard County, Indiana, August 7th, 1851 and died at his home three and one-half miles south of Amboy, July 8, 1923, aged 71 years, 11 months, and one day. He lived his entire lief at the place of his birth.

He was of a retiring disposition, not caring for display, but took great pleasure in mingling with relatives and friends, leading an exemplary life of honesty, frugality, and generosity which was an inspiration to all who knew him.

For the future life, he always had the most serious thought and consideration, accepting the principles and precepts of the Bible according to parental guidance and the Primitive Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his departure a widow, one sister, Minta Larrison, one brother, J. C. Clelland of Amboy, besides a large number of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held on the lawn of the home Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Goble of Grant County, and burial was made in Park Lawn Cemetery, north of Amboy.
