Services were held at 2 p.m. at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. David Mason officiating. Interment under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home was in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mainnie [sic Minnie] Black; three sons, Gordie Black of Sillsby [sic Silsbee], Tex., Guy and Grady Black, of Jonesboro; four daughters, Mrs. C. R. Griffith, of Chatham, Mrs. J. N. Birdwell, Bossier City, Mrs. Clarence Hood and Mrs. E. L. Hargrove, of Jonesboro; two brothers, Grover Black, of Bastrop, and Hosea Black of Nederland, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Lula Batson, of Arcadia, and six grandchildren.
