Julia Barbara was born on January 29, 1891 in Hempstead, Texas, to the union of John Mosley, Sr. and Nancy Hanks Bramlett Behn. She attended school in the Collin County school system.

When she was only 10 years of age, she lost her beloved father, and her mother, pregnant at the time with the youngest child, was left to raise eight other children. Barbara matured quickly and took a role of helping her mother to raise her younger brothers and sisters. She continued this role even with her nieces and nephews, always encouraging them to get a higher education.

God said it was "time," and Barbara passed away in February, 1984. Her passing left a void within the family, because she was always there whenever family needed her strength and encouragement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 12 brothers, George, Henry, J.E., J.N., Prince Albert, John, Jr., Charlie, Thomas W., Lurain, General Eckie, Samuel and Mosley; and three sisters, Mattie Jones, Addie Behn Jones Miller, and Alverta Behn Watkins.

We loved her, but God loved her best.
