GLEN ROCK – Ralph W. Shaffer, 73, husband of Mrs. Myrtle Bailey Shaffer, 132 Church St., died Saturday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital, York, where he was a patient two weeks.
A son of the late Howard and Mary Glatfelter Shaffer, he was a Glen Rock resident for the past 48 years. He had retired 11 years ago from Bayuk Cigar Co., York. He belonged to Emmanuel United Methodist Church and was a member of Glen Rock Gun Club.
Also surviving are: A son, F. Bernard Shaffer, Glen Rock RD 1; a grandson; a great grandson; three brothers, Oscar Shaffer, Seven Valleys; Stewart Shaffer, Glen Rock; Paul Shaffer, Spring Grove, and three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Heathcote, Glen Rock; Mrs. Annie Sterner, Spring Grove, and Mrs. Roy Burns, Jefferson.
His pastor, the Rev. Karl Fetterman, will officiate at funeral services on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Geiple Funeral Home. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
