GLEN ROCK - Mrs. Myrtle Bailey Shaffer, 71, of 132 Church St., widow of Ralph W. Shaffer, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday at Barley Convalescent Home East, York.
She was born in Baltimore, daughter of the late J. Allen and Ella Snyder Bailey.
A lifelong resident of Glen Rock, she had been employed by AMP Inc. since its beginning about 1939 until her retirement nine years ago. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and Sunday school, where she sang on the choir for a number of years; Ladies' Auxiliary of Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Co.; and York Chapter, AARP.
Surviving are a son, F. Bernard Shaffer, Glen Rock RD 1; a grandson; two great-grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Geiple Funeral Home. Her pastor, the Rev. Karl Fetterman, assisted by the Rev. D. W. Stock, retired pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
