BLUFFS — Leatha A. Hutton, 75, of Bluffs, died Monday afternoon, July 6,1998, at her residence. She was born March 26,1923, in Neelyville, the daughter of John and Clara Vortman Sandman. She married Donald Hutton on Feb. 24, 1945, in Bluffs, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 18,1968. She is survived by six daughters, Donna (husband, Raymond) Lawber, Reta (husband, Bill) Brockway, and Peggy (husband, Dennis) Metz, all of Bluffs, Linda (husband, Don) Fanshier of Meredosia, Ruth (husband, Lynn) Craig of Jacksonville, Debbie (husband, Barry) Bringman of Chatham; two sons. Bob (wife, Dianne) of Naples, Steve (wife, Tena) of Bluffs; 14 grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Sandman of Bluffs. She was preceded in death by one son, James who has killed in Vietnam in 1967; three sisters, Annabell and Louise Sandman in infancy and Lela Holt; and two brothers, John and Art Sandman. Mrs. Hutton was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bluffs and the Bluffs American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Bluffs with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family meeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice
