The son of August and Ida (Hahnfeld) Mensching.Vic was born in the house his grandfather built in 1892. Which is now owned by Vic's son. He worked and retired as a school custodian for 35 years with District 62 in Des Plaines,Il.

He was the manager for 25 years of the Des Plaines CORSAIRS color guard, which marched in many competitions and parades.

He was also Santa Claus's helper for many of years.And He also played a clown at many events as Tappy the Clown.

Vic was also a cowboy at heart.He performed in Wild West Shows as Sheriff Vic and reenacted cowboy gunfights.Vic was a performer, who loved people and tried to help everyone he can.

He married Linda Schopp in Des Plaines on June 20,1964.
They had 2 sons,Mark and Brian, and adopted another son named Chris.
Vic loved them all very much.

Vic's heart got weak and caught pneumonia and died at 3:29 pm October 1,1992 at St.Anthony Hospital in Rockford,IL.He was 63. He was buried in his cowboy outfit,with his boots on. He will ride with GOD on the happy trail, til we meet again.
