∼Printed in the Homer Enterprise, Friday June 12, 1953. Mrs. Amanda E. Haworth, mother of Samuel Wright of this place, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Ellis, in Homer last Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday in the Scott funeral home, with Rev. Loren Heller, pastor of the Homer Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in GAR cemetery. Mrs. Haworth is survived by 142 descendants. She was born June 3, 1859, in Ripley county, Indiana, a daughter of Stephen A. and Martha Ann Pribble. She came to Illinois with her family when six years old, and lived near Indianola until moving to Homer. She married J.E. Wright and following his death married William S. Haworth. He also preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Samuel Wright, Sidney; Glen Wright, Urbana; Victor Wright, Springfield; five daughters, Mrs. Daisey Haworth, Georgetown; Mrs. Myrtle Palmer and Mrs. Garnet Sanks, Danville; Mrs. Pearl Cox and Mrs. Ellis, Homer.
