William E. (Bill) Myers, 49, of Watson died Friday at 7:15 p.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

The son of John Wesley and Lula Mae (Goen) Myers, he was born on June 12, 1929 in Effingham. On July 13, 1950, in Oceola, Arkansas, he married Lois E. Gloyd.

Mr. Myers was veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Effingham Moose Lodge No. 502; Effingham American Legion Post No. 120; Effingham Disabled American Veterans; and member of Watson Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; four sons, William E. Myers Jr.of Teutopolis, John Myers of Mount Vernon, Bruce and Robert Myers, both at home; three daughters, Brenda, at home, Mrs. Terry (Beverly) Yingst of Watson and Rebecca McCoy of Effingham.

Other survivors are his mother, Lula Myers of Effingham; and four brothers, Henry of Springfield, Richard of Joliet, Robert of Edmund, Oklahoma and Max of Borger, Texas.

He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Fern R). Askew of Effingham, Mrs. John (Marcella) Aldridge of Mason, Mrs. Walter (Dortha) Topp of Pana, Mrs. T.A. (Bessie "Babe") Mastin of Tampa, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Watson Baptist Church, with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Mr. Myers had worked at Wenthe Plumbing and Heating for 20 years.
