Born May 20, 1923 in Bellefonte, he was a son of Willis and Bertha (Breon) Wion.
Mr. Wion was a 1943 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. As an engineer, he worked for Hamilton Standard Propeller Co. in Hartford, Connecticut until he was drafted into the Navy, where he served until World War II was over. Other jobs were with Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, New York, Sutton Engineering Co. in Bellefonte, and HRB Singer at State College. He retired in 1985, after working sixteen years for AMP Incorporated in Harrisburg.
Surviving is a son, Douglas A. Wion of State College; a daughter, Susan J. Bartram and husband, Scott, of McLean, Va; and a granddaughter, Hanna Bartram.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence Fromm, on September 26, 1993; two brothers, Harold A. and Philip W. Wion; and a sister, Eleanor E. Wion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Messiah Village Chapel, 100 Mt. Allen Dr., Mechanicsburg, with Pastor Debby Bentch officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Village Endowment Fund, 100 Mt. Allen Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
