Lois Elaine Caba, age 68, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014, at her home.
She was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Cass County, a daughter of the late Paul and Thelma (Bliss) Letcher.
Lois resided in the Sturgis and the Three Rivers area most of her life. Her early life was spent in Vandalia.
She was first married to Frank Griems Jr. She later married the love of her life, William Fink. He died in 1988. Following his death, she married Jim Caba, and he died in 2005.
While married to Bill, the couple owned and operated River Services and Appliances in Three Rivers and while married to Jim, the couple owned and operated Sweet Mobile Home Park in Sturgis.
Lois enjoyed gardening, working with horses, attending auctions, fishing and window shopping. Lois was happiest when she was surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Michael) Ulinder of Beaverton and Barbara (her fiancé Aaron Boyer) Griems of Sturgis; five grandchildren, Nicole Redmond, Mathew Crawford, Alexander Crawford, Sierra Osborne and Levi Griems; a great-grandson, Aeryn Redmond; a brother, Kenny; four sisters, Joanne, Nancy, Patty and Vicky; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Mary; and a great-granddaughter, Madyson Crawford.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lois Caba will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sturgis Church of Christ. Pastor David Main will officiate. Private burial of the ashes will take place at a later date at Old School House Cemetery in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Mrs. Caba's memory be directed to Hackman Family Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 9, Sturgis, MI 49091 to help with expenses.
