Mamie Shepherd
Mamie Lawrence was born on April 3, 1909, rural Coyville, Kansas to Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Lawrence, and passed away in Fredonia, Kansas on September 29, 1967.
On November 23, 1932 she was united in marriage to Cleo Shepherd at Fredonia and for eight years they resided near Fall River. In 1940 they moved to rural Coyville where they have since made their home.
To this union were born one daughter and one son. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Cleo; one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Patricia) Wambsgans, Fredonia; one son, Donald shepherd, El Dorado; her mother, Mrs. O. J. Lawrence, Fredonia; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Henley, Pierre, S. Dak., Mrs. May Puckett, Sedalia, Mo., Mrs. Gladys Laymon, Appleton City, Mo.; one brother, Paul Lawrence, Larned, Kans.; and four grandchildren. Her father and one brother, Earl, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shepherd was a faithful member of the Coyville Christian Church and also a member of the Ladies Aide of the church.
Services in memory of Mrs. Shepherd were held Sunday, October 1, 1967, at 2 p.m. in the Christian Church at Coyville, Kansas, conducted by Rev. David Downing. Casketbearers were W.A. Wood, Harvey Wilson, Max Gregory, W. W. Ferguson, Charles Neds and Lawrence Clark. Interment was in the Coyville Cemetery, under the direction of the Cason Funeral Home.
