Robert Billingsley, born Donegal, Ireland in 1810, a twin. The family tradition has it that about 1828 -29 his brother, John Billingsley of Butler County, Pennsylvania wrote to his brother, Matthew, urging him to come over to America. Matthew did not care to come and Robert asked to be allowed to make the trip.

History:
Robert and Jane Gilliland were married June 01, 1836, in Venango County, Pennsylvania. They had the following children; Josiah H. (1838–1863), Catherine (1840–1883), Joseph (1842–1864), Margaret (1844–1937), Elizabeth(1846–1925), Louisa (1846–1924), Robert H. (1849–1896), Alexander Cook (1852–1905), Mary Jane (1854–1930), and James Johnson Billingsley (1859–1938). Robert Jackson Billingsley and Jane separated around 1857. They never divorced.

Robert and Harriet Winn were never married. They had the following children; Oliver (1857 - 1888), Harvey (1863 - 1949), and Ida Harriet Billingsley (1863 - 1942).

Robert and Rebecca Callahan had the following children; Sarah Sadie (1867 - 1964), Olive (1869 - 1881), Andrew Johnson (1873 - 1920), and Alberna Rozella (1875 - 1943). Following Jane Gilliland Billingsley's death in 1870, Robert and Rebecca were married in April 1871.
