Catherine filed for Jeremiah's war pension in May 1887. In Feb of 1888 Catherine stated she was 56 years old, making her birth year about 1831 or 1832. In 1890, Catherine is listed in Perry Co., PA in the 1890 Veterans and Widows Census/Schedule. In Apr 1891, Catherine shows up in Otterbein United Methodist Church, Duncannon, Perry Co., PA taking a profession of faith.
She married Jeremiah Anderson on 11 Dec 1845 in Hunters Valley, Perry County. This date was taken from her widows pension application.
I am not positive that Catherine is buried in Hill Church, but her husband and daughter are, so I am playing a hunch. She might be buried with her parents in Charles Farm Peach Road Cemetery in Buffalo Twp., Perry Co., PA I am assuming her grave is unmarked as she was rather poor at the time of her death.
Sources: Census Records, US Civil War Pension Index, 1890 Veterans Schedules, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Church and Town records. Pennsylvania Death Certificates. Pennsylvania Wills and Probate.
5 of her eight kids are linked to her memorial. Oldest daughter Mary C. married a William Miller. They lived next door to her sister, Frances, in Montgomery Co., IA in 1880 and 1885 census but managed to disappear after that. Her 2nd daughter, Amanda E. is a mystery. I do not know what ever happened to her.
