Chico Enterprise-Record, Friday, November 22, 1957: "Mrs. Edith Richardson Succumbs. Mrs. Edith Stevens Richardson, member of a prominent Chico family, died unexpectedly late this morning at Enloe Hospital. She was 73 years old. Mrs. Richardson had been in the hospital for treatment of a fractured leg since Nov. 11, but was expected to be released shortly.
"The widow of the late C. C. Richarson, founder of Richarson's Furniture Store at Eighth and Main, Mrs. Richardson had taken an active interest in the business and also was active in ranching interests. Her husband died March 23, 1953. Mrs. Richarson, who lived at 520 West Third Street, was born Sept. 30, 1884, on Dayton Road. Funeral services are pending at the Brusie Funeral Home."
