Prayer services for Maria Ortiz, 55 of Post will be at 7 p.m. today in Justice-Mason Funeral home Chapel with Jacinto Vasquez, a Lubbock lay minister offiating.
Services will be at 10:20 am Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church with the same officiant. The Rev. Billie Smith, Trinity Baptist Church minister, will assist, and the burial in Terrace Cemetery will be directed by Justice-Mason Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ortiz died Thursday morning in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Vega and had resided in Mathis, Lubbock, and Slaton prior to moving to Post in 1982. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Candelario of Lubbock and Robert and Jesus Jr., both of Post; a daughter, Susie Gomez of Post; five brothers Simon Martinez and Lorenzo Martinez, both of San Antonio, Santos Martinez and Danny Martinez, both of Lubbock, and Jimmy Martinez of Amarillo; three sister, Helen Diaz of Sinton, Rosa Vasquez of Lubbock and Josie Esquivel of Bandera; and eight grandchildren.
