Camilo Sise Jamison
The body of Melo Jamison, and old time resident of this place was brought here Thursday of last week to be buried in the family plot at Hopewell Cemetery, Mr. Jamison was stricken with a heart attack at his home in Fort Worth on Saturday before, and carried to the hospital. After much improvement was seen, he was allowed to be taken back home on Sunday. On Tuesday he had another attack from which he died several hours later.
Melo, as he was known here was born at the old family home near here May 30, 1875, he has lived here practically all his life, until about 15 years ago. During the early days of Normangee he was one of our most worthy and respected citizens. He was city marshal of our town several times.
Services were held at the Methodist Church here, conducted by Bro. J. B. Davis and Bro. C. E. Bullock prior to leaving for the cemetery. Active pallbearers were Messrs. T. S. Batson, W. D. McDonald, J. D. Hines, E. G. Palmer and Joe Gardner.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nora Jamison, four children, Bill of Louisiana; Melo Jr., of Odessa, Miss Mamie Pearl and Mrs. Royce House, both of fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Collard of Fort Worth and Mrs. Mary Collard of Bryan; two brothers S. W. and George, both of Normangee.
A good man and one whose Friends have always been numerous has gone to his reward. Funeral arrangements were handled by a Fort Worth undertaking company.
