Funeral service for Donald "Grandpa" Caz Armes,78 of Faxon, Oklahoma was at 2:00 p.m.Friday November 12,2010, at Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. Norma Quinn, Senior Pastor, officiating.

He died on November 9th, 2010, at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center. Burial was at 10:00a.m. Monday November 15, 2010 at Fort Sill National Cemetery,Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

He was born on June 9th, 1932, in Dimmitt, Texas to Marion Caz Armes and Hattie Robinson Armes. He was raised and attended schools in Texas. At age 17, he joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He was aboard the USS Kearsarge near Japan for a year.

He had worked in the insurance business as a claims adjuster for several years before working in management of the motel/hotel business. He worked as the head of security for the Tandy/Radio Shack Corporation at a manufacturing plant in Fort Worth, Texas for a number of years.

Upon moving to Oklahoma, he was hired at Liberty National Bank, formerly the Bank of Elgin, as the bank courier, where he worked for almost 10 years before his retirement in 2009.

While living in Oklahoma, he resided near his son and family. He loved helping his granddaughters, Katy and Kelsey, with their F.F.A. livestock projects, including steers and hogs. He was a vital part of the family farm operations, especially following his son's election to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives. At the time of his death, he was a resident of the Lawton/Fort Sill Veteran's Center.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Honorable Don L.and Dede Armes,of Faxon, Oklahoma two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Mike Bills of Keller, Texas, and Melissa and Steve Young of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Katy and Kelsey Armes,Travis,Josh,Casey,Aldyn Bills and Tori Young; and one great grandchild; Karsyn Bills; a brother,Dean Armes of Fort Worth Texas; and a special nephew and his wife, Ron and Mary Ann Armes of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, who died in childhood.
