George Rothrock, 77, Succumbs in Lima Memorial Hospital Wednesday
ADA, Aug 31 -- George Rothrock, 77, president of the Liberty bank here for the past 20 years died Wednesday morning in Lima Memorial hospital from complications following an operation. He had been in failing health for the past year.A native of New Stark, Mr. Rothrock was born April 3, 1861, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Stonehill) Rothrock. He was graduated from Ohio Northern University and started a hardware business in Ada which he operated from 1891 to 1926.Besides being president of the bank for the last two decades, he also was a director and one-time president of the Home Savings and Loan Company in Ada.He was a member of the Presbyterian church and superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years. He also belonged to the Masonic Blue lodge.Mr. Rothrock's wife died last June. Surviving are three sons, Dale, Columbus, Paul, Glendale, Ariz.; and George, Gary, Ind., and two daughters, Mrs. P. Reed (sic) Marshal (sic), Lima, and Mrs. C. (sic) A. Ball, Richmond, Ind.Funeral services will be had at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. W. A. Condop (sic), officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery in charge of the Lantz funeral home.The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday."
