LUCILE IONE HIGGS

Alamosa resident Lucile Ione Higgs, 75, died December 24 in Alamosa.
She was born April 13, 1916, to Edward and Bessie Mae Abernathy.
A homemaker, she was the widow of Ned Higgs. She belonged to the Sherman Avenue Homemakers Club and enjoyed handicrafts.
Survivors include daughters Jean (Raymond) Wallendorff, Alamosa, Phyllis (Ralph) Tharpe, Houston, Texas, and Peggy (Stan) Hopper, Grand Junction; brothers Charles Abernathy, Washington, and Harold Abernathy, Spokane, Wash.; sister Betty Pospahala, Boulder; 10 grandchildren and five great grand-children.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Pinkerton.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Olme and Sharp Memorial Chapel in Monte Vista.
Memorial contributions may be made to the San Luis Care Center van fund, in care of Olme and Sharp Funeral Home which is handling the arrangements.
