Mr. Starnes died on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Putnam County to the late Ira Dalton and Julia Taylor Starnes.
He was a retired factory worker with Borg Warner Corp. Mr. Starnes was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife of 59 years, Sue Starnes of Cookeville; two sons and daughtersinlaw, Jim and Victoria Starnes of Cookeville, and David and Carol Starnes of Warren, Mich.; a sister, Johnnie Kelly of Lakewood, Calif.;
10 grandchildren, Susan, Jimmy, Robert, Jason, Mark, Laura, Jonathan, Jennifer and Joshua Starnes and Jackie Bastianon; and two greatgrandchildren, Keith Starnes and Joey Bastianon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lionel and Odell Starnes; and two sisters, Jolly Watts and Eva Burton.
