Robert J. Willhoff Sr., 90, Coldwater, died at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 2010, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born March 5, 1920, in Coldwater, to Jacob and Anna Huart Willhoff. On Aug. 5, 1944, he married Ruth Tally, who survives in Coldwater.
Also surviving are five children, Marilyn Willhoff (Jim Austin), Columbus, Robert (Jude) Willhoff Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., Suzanne Howe, Dayton, James (Kathy) Willhoff, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Patricia Willhoff, Columbus; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five siblings, Marianne Kessler, Angela Bramlage, Sr. Beta Willhoff, Othmar Willhoff and Elmo Willhoff.
He was a member and past president of Coldwater Kiwanis and Jaycees. He was a life member of the Coldwater Knights of Columbus Council 1991 and the American Legion Post 470 in Coldwater. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and the Mercer County Elks. He was also a volunteer at Mercer Health. He owned the former Willhoff's furniture store in Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating.
