History of the Towandas, 1776-1886: including the aborigines, Pennamites ... By Clement Ferdinand Heverly

Williston West was a settler on the Harry Decker place as early as 1812. He cleared up a considerable part of the farm. For his second wife he married Miss Susan, daughter of Benjamin Bosworth. He died very suddenly at the age of about 80 years [in 1819, more likely abt 65], and was buried at Cole's. The children resulting from his second marriage were William [Williston Jr], Andrew, Harrison [Benjamin], Lorenzo[Alonzo], and Amy. The widow married Jno. Haithorn, an Englishman. Amy and Andrew went West with the Mormons.

Benjamin Bosworth, a soldier of the Revolution, and hatter by trade, came in from Boston and settled (about 1814) the place adjoining Mr. West's, the same now being owned in part by Willis Fisher. He died Dec. 27, 1847, in the 94th year of his age, and is buried at Cole's with a number of his brave compeers.
