WAYCROSSAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF FATHER (in part)
A Waycross man was arrested and charged with murder Saturday night in the shooting death of his father....

The Police captain said further investigation revealed that the senior Morgan and his son had been involved in an argument.

During the course of the argument, Kirkland said the younger Morgan shot and killed his father.

Morgan was transferred to the Ware County Jail where he awaits a preliminary hearing.

Capt. Kirkland said the investigation was incomplete.

Assisting in the arrest were Det. Sgt. J. E. Blackburn and Ptl. L. M. Stalvey.

Morgan, 73, was a native of Ware County and the son of the late Robert A. Morgan and Mary Alice Bennett Morgan.

He was a member of Hargraves Chapel Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charlie O'Berry, Manor; three sons, Burl Morgan and Eugene T. Morgan, both of Waycross and Earl Morgan, Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. May Lee, Ida Sweat, all of Millwood, and Mrs. Vida Corbitt, Waycross; one brother, Archie Morgan, Millwood; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. today at Hargraves Chapel Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home is in charge.

RITES HELD FOR MORGAN
Funeral service for Oscar Morgan, 73, who died Saturday were held yesterday afternoon at Hargraves Chapel Church with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Keith Bennett, Bobby Morgan, Raymer Morgan, J. W. O'Berry, the Rev. Fred Morgan and Monroe Bennett.

Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home was in charge.
