Andrew had a twin brother, Isaac Anderson, who was always known as Anderson. A descendant of their youngest sister, Hannah, related the story of the two old twins and how they could be seen walking all over New Castle when they were well into their 80s.

In 1870 he and his parents and six siblings lived in Worth Township, Butler County, PA. His father was a carpenter, and owned personal property worth $100.

In 1880 he and his parents and eight siblings lived in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County, PA. His father was a carpenter.

In 1900 he and his wife Margaret and their four children lived in a house they were renting on Water Street in Clay District, Hancock County, WV. He was a fireman on a stationary engine.

In 1910 he and five of his children lived in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, PA. He was an engineer and his son Frank was a laborer in the tube mill.

In 1920 he and his brother Clouse were boarders in the home of 26-year-old widow Elizabeth Haswell and her daughter Ruth, age six, at 802 Pollock Avenue in New Castle, PA. He worked as a fireman in a tin mill and Clouse worked as a laborer at a chemical works.

In 1930 he lived with his son Carl and his family in Union Township, Lawrence County, PA. He was retired.

In 1950 he lived in a rear apartment at 709 West Washington Street in New Castle, PA.
