Joseph Graham Beale, 59, died Dec. 31, 2000.
Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Archibald M. Beale and Viola Graham Beale. Mr. Beale retired from the Norfolk Police Department and served as parts manager for Eastern Auto Distributors. He was a member of Norfolk Emergency Communication Service, VFW No. 4809 and Virginia Fone Net where he often served as net control ''KR4IH.'' He attended the Norfolk division of William and Mary and graduated from Paul D. Camp Community College. Mr. Beale was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Rogernette T. Beale; three daughters, Jodi Lyn Pope and her husband, Robert, of Chesapeake, Jacqueline D.B. Graven and her husband, Steven, of Norfolk and Jennifer D. Beale of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph Michael Beale and John David Tillman of the home; three grandchildren, Shayna and Sierra Graven and Alexander Pope; a brother, John Saunders of Norfolk; and three sisters, Viola Beale Cox and Blanche Hughes of Virginia Beach, and Josephine Beale Haskell of California.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Altmeyer Funeral Home by Dr. Lemar Sentell. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
