Archibald M. ''Archie'' Beale, 85, of the 2500 block of Strawbridge Road, died Dec. 23, 1999, in his home.
He was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., and was the widower of Viola Mabelle Beale. He was a retired machinist quarterman from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Wesleyman Bible Class of Epworth United Methodist Church, Naomi Masonic Lodge No. 87, AF&AM, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies and Khedive Temple of the Shrine.
Survivors include two daughters, Josephine R. Haskill of Washington state and Viola Cox of Virginia Beach; a son, Joseph Graham Beale of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, by the Rev. James Earley. Burial will be in Nimmo United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
