~0bit~Troy Mills-Funeral services for George Elmer Attwood, 73, pioneer resident of Troy Mills, who died Monday at his home here, were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist Church here with the Rev. C. C. Miller, pastor of the Christian Church in Center Point, in charge. Burial was made in the Troy Mills Cemetery. George Elmer Attwood was born at Willouby in Butler County, Iowa, on January 22, 1862 and moved to Troy Mills early in life. He died on his farm one mile south of Troy Mills last Monday evening about 5 p.m. after suffering for four years with asthma and complications. Surviving are his widow, Laura, one sister, Mrs. Jane Smith, and one brother, Charles Attwood of Troy Mills. (part of this is missing) and Mrs. A. L. Teter of Pueblo, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. William Bishop, of Flint, Michigan. Other relatives attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Manson, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Manson, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Love, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hekel, Mr. and Mrs. Marshal Adams, all of Quasqueton. Mary Pugh, Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Pugh of Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Pugh, of Marion, Iowa, Laura Williams of Tama, Mr. and Mrs. George Pugh, of Elgin, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Paris and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lem Russell and family of Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gardner, of Walker, Mr and Mrs. A. C. Holman of Jesup, Mr.and Mrs, Mel Ondler, of Walker, Mrs. Henry Bateman and family of Winthrop, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Andrews and family, of Paris, and many friends from the comminity, all of who join in their sympathy to this family in their hour of beavement.
